Skappbeetles are large insects in Ghost of a Tale. They are used for long-distance communication.

They are commonly kept in high places, such as roofs, where they are tended to by a signal guard Rat. They are capable of homing in on certain locations over long distances with messages attached to them. Skappbeetles like to lay their eggs in clusters in the highest places they can find.

Silas gives Tilo a personal Skappbeetle to act as a way to stay in contact with him after Tilo descends to the lower areas of the keep.
